Making way for New Beginnings

It feels both strange and exhilarating writing my first words on this new site- like pouring my first words onto the clean pages of a brand new journal! Like new years and Mondays… A feeling of having a clean slate and a chance at a fresh start. And like all new beginnings, it feels both daunting and exciting…but it certainly also feels good. It feels darn good to be here!  God knows I’ve worked hard for it 🙂

Our old home was a great first home. A perfect  beginner home for someone still trying to find their way. But it really wasn’t conducive to long friendly visits. But this place…this space over here…it feels like the dream family home with all the frills I ever wanted to have guests over and stay a while. The kind where your coffee goes cold because you’re too engrossed in conversation.

So whether you’ve found your way here from the old site, or just joining in – Welcome! A very big welcome to our new home. I almost feel like I need to take you on a tour!

I worked with Andrea from Bird & Design  to create a brand new everything, really. She helped me move from Blogger to WordPress, purchase my very own domain (we’re now www.lifeandtimesofthefireflies.co.za and no longer namusnarratives.blogspot), created an actual brand image for us – which is also a first! One that feels authentic to us, our theme, our family, our eastern roots, and my writing. And what we have now is a brand, spanking new site and layout. One that is easy on the eye, and with the categories option, also so much easier to navigate. It also links back to all my social media handles (the small icons at the bottom of the page) which makes it so much easier to follow along on our journey across all platforms.

All in all, it’s a new space, but with the same sentimental narrative I’ve always shared my journey in. A place to share, grow and preserve. A home for my memories…a home and space I’d like you to frequent. And then obviously, if you enjoy what you find in this space, there’s the option to subscribe on my home page and always be up to date with what’s new. So go on and take a look around. Grab a cup of coffee and stay a while. And when you’re done visiting, please leave a comment and let me know what you think! I’d love to hear what you have to say <3

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace,

NAMU 🙂

    • Thank you Azima 🙂 I left the subscribe button on the home page in an attempt to just keep things simple. Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. I will look into it.
